ZHÌ [ 至 ], AN ARROW REACHED THE GROUND

The syntactical structure of Chinese characters is very complex and one of the greatest challenges of our time. The problem results from the system of uniform black strokes, which can be explained from the writing techniques used to date.
In today’s computer era, however, the medium of expression has changed and it is easily possible to colour the single strokes of Chinese characters. The aim of this is to dismantle the complex overall structure into substructures and thus to make the individual characters more easily memorable.
There are different methodological approaches, e.g. historical or linguistic perspectives or that of visual design. It remains uncertain which path will lead to a relevant result.
